After placing 5th in '97, Brodt worked his way through the winners side undefeated to capture the 1998 U.S. Amateur Title. His calculating, methodical approach and knack for hooking opponents kept him on the offensive en route to the 11-9 Final Match victory.

Playing in his first APA-sanctioned event, the Bristol. England native stepped away from snooker momentarily and put his cuestick skills to good use in placing 3rd in his first 8-Ball or 9-Ball tournament of the year.
